SWF VOICES FOR RECOVERY
Why you should sign up and participate in The Walk for Recovery:
You’ll be helping others and you will be helping yourself as well.
The past surgeon general estimated close to 85% of our most dreaded diseases could be prevented with appropriate lifestyle changes, including a good diet and regular exercises.
A good diet and regular exercising combined with a comprehensive recovery plan greatly accelerates the freedom from addiction.
Athletically and nutritionally fit individuals can measure out at 10 to 20 years biologically younger than their chronological age.
There is nothing as regenerative and transformative as getting in shape. You not only look better, you get stronger, gain confidence, and feel more alive. Some of it is because of lower blood pressure, lower blood sugar, increased metabolism and endorphins. When you’re healthy, you feel better. But it’s also the sense that if you can change your body, you can change anything. You become aware of your muscles working, sense your heart beating more effortlessly, project good posture and walk with a purpose. Life is full of possibilities.
What’s the catch for getting this magical pill? It requires appropriate lifestyle changes. Make no mistake, change is not easy. Change is difficult. Change can be painful. Change does not feel comfortable. The negative effects of change are short term. The long term effects of staying “comfortable” are even more negative: muscular atrophy, disease, loss of range of motion, increased dependence on drugs, and eventually loss of your independence.
SWF Voices for Recovery is holding a “The Walk for Recovery” Saturday, 8:30am to 10:30am, September 26th, 2009 at Lakes Park in Ft. Myers to share the importance of substance abuse treatment and the renewed outlook on life that a commitment to recovery can offer. Nutritionists, trainers, and addiction specialists will be available to assist you in developing a healthy diet and lifestyle. Voices for Recovery sponsors are committed to giving you the mental as well as physical tools you’ll need to change your body or anything else worthwhile in your life. You can pre-register online at:

There is no charge for this event, but donations will be welcomed and will help support those in need of treatment and their families.
Being Happy, Healthy, Wealthy and Wise is a CHOICE! Make the choice to walk with us in support of Recovery.
